What is Financial Literacy?
The President's Advisory Council on Financial Literacy defines personal financial literacy as "the ability to use knowledge and skills to manage financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial well-being." (2008 Annual Report to the President)
Financial literacy incorporates concepts such as saving, investing and debt management. The ultimate goal of Financial Literacy is to develop an overall sense of financial well-being. We work on basic money management skills and learn how to make money work for us.
